The Human Papillomavirus (HPV), is the most common sexually transmitted disease.  HPV is the leading cause of cervical cancer in women.  An estimated 80% of the sexually active population will contract hpv some time in their life.  This figure may change in the years to come with the introduction of the Gardasil hpv vaccine in 2006.  While there are more than 100 different strains of hov, the vaccine targets the two that lead to the most cases of cervical cancer and the two that cause the majority of genital warts.  For more information on hpv and the gardasil vaccine, please browse through the links listed below.
